1/13/2019 – How’s Your Dung Gate – Pastor Steve Blayer

How’s your dung gate?

Neh 1:11-13    the refuse (dung) gate…

Every living thing needs a way to remove waste – from the cellular level to the most complex organic systems. Dung is a sign of LIFE! It is inevitable, but failure to remove that waste becomes toxic.

Our body is designed to filter out waste and remove it from our system, and it lets us know when it is time to release it. Our hearts also communicate to our bodies when we need a release of toxic thoughts.

Prov 4:20-23

We are walking in true heavenly wisdom when we are experiencing the fruits of that wisdom. Wisdom has been found when we are free to love without hindrance.

Two keys to a healthy dung gate:

1. Mind your heart’s diet by changing your mind

Rom 12:1-2   …transformed by the renewing of our minds

BRAIN TREES:             We can CHANGE OUR MINDS

Holding onto negative thoughts physically damages our brains.

  • 30,000 thoughts per day – billions of cells being produced and renewed or damaged.
  • Fear alonetriggers 1400 chemical responses in the body/ 30 different hormones
  • Thoughts Triggering on or off parts of our DNA

we are hard-wired for love. We LEARN fear by choosing to give it a place in our heart. our bodies respond positively to love, and negatively to fear (which is the mother of all demonic thinking)

Psa 19:14  Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart …

A thought life filled with…    is like a dead tree

-“I’m such a _____”

-speculations

-judgments-

Woulda-could- shouldas…

-replaying hurts /disappointments

Psa 119:99  I have more insight than all my teachers, For Your testimonies are my meditation.

Psa 119:97   O how I love Your law! It is my meditation all the day.

James 1:21  get the word implanted àsaving of soul!

2.  Find a rest room…(don’t let your heart be constipated)

Heb 4:12Come boldly…

Proverbs 27:17  Iron sharpens iron, So one man sharpens another.

Prov 27:6   faithfulwounds of a friend to be firm, to build up, to support, to nurture, or to establish.
