2/26/2017 – Always Satisfied, Always Hungry for More – Pastor Steve Blayer

Always satisfied, Always hungry for more

Acts 10:38 “You know of Jesus of Nazareth, how God anointed Him with the Holy Spirit and with power, and how He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.

IF JESUS NEEDED THE POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT, HOW MUCH MORE DO WE NEED IT?

> Desiring the Holy Spirit is not optional. It’s the very context of our favorite quote from the bible:

Luke 11:9-13

> Ask…and keep on asking – be like the persistent neighbor asking for bread

OF ALL THE THINGS GOD WANTS US TO ASK FOR – THE HOLY SPIRIT IS HIS FAVORITE

> Solomon asked for Wisdom to rule God’s people well…we should ask for the Holy Spirit to fulfill His great commission well!

Luke 11:5-8 “I have nothing to set before him”

> Truth is, this is us without the Holy Spirit

OUR DESIRE FOR MORE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH SELF-GRATIFICATION. IT IS SO THAT WE WILL BE BETTER EQUIPPED TO HELP AND HEAL THE PARTS THAT MAN CANNOT HEAL

Luke 9:37-45

> The disciples could not heal the boy…Jesus reminded them that they would soon have to carry this thing.

THE KINGDOM HAS BEEN GIVEN TO OUR HANDS. WE DON’T HAVE THE OPTION OF SETTLING FOR LESS THAN THE FULL MANIFESTATION OF JESUS’ MINISTRY IN THE EARTH

1 Cor 14:1-5

> Speaking in tongues – build us up in our inner man

> Prophesying – build up others

> The word “Prophecy” means “ to bubble up (naba – as in Joel 2:28), to flow forth or to cause to drip like rain (nataf)”

WHATEVER FILLS YOU WILL FLOW FROM YOU
