Hosting Him together
Living in such a way that we do not grieve the Spirit
Eph 2:18-22 you also are being built together into a dwelling of God in the Spirit.
we are individually carriers of god’s presence, and are temples of the holy spirit. our togetherness, however, is where his presence abides for the sake of a region.
Eph 4:24-32
Put on the new self (put on = wear something which belongs to you)
SPEAK TRUTH
BE ANGRY, AND yet DO NOT SIN
so that he will have something to share with one who has need.
no unwholesome word(rotten, putrid)
give grace to those who hear.
do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God
The Holy Spirit truly is all powerful, yet is also extraordinarily sensitive to a lack of love. He LOVES to exalt the name of Jesus, so the surest way to grieve Him is to talk down about the ones He loves most.
bitterness bitter roots bring bitter fruits
and wrath passion ready to boil over
and anger coveting/ desire – anger as a state of mind – not a reactionary emption
and clamor outcry/ bursting out
and slander wounding someone’s reputation by evil reports
all malice having a desire to do harm to someone
To “put away” means to deprive something of the benefits of God’s Kingdom. When we cease to grant our bitterness, etc. our authority and power, they lose their power, and begin to shrivel.
instead…
32-5:2 Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.
The Holy Spirit is drawn to a gathering of Christ-dwellers when a culture of love and honor is being built. When Christ is being built by our words, the Spirit will set up His home ion such a place.
