Salvation is…Deliverance
Jesus – Yeshua = the Deliverer “The Lord is Salvation” Ex 6:6-8
> Like Israel taking the Promised Land, so are we “taking” back our lives. The land needs to be set free from its demonic inhabitants. Delivering a package means taking it from one place to another.
> Two extremes of deliverance ministry: Devil under every bush. OR No devils at all.
A FAILURE TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE EXISTENCE AND INFLUENCE OF THE DEMONIC REALM SERVES THEIR PURPOSES BEST. THEY ARE CREATURES OF DARKNESS, AND LIKE A BUG HIDING UNDER A ROCK THEY SCRAMBLE FOR COVER WHEN EXPOSED TO THE LIGHT
> Natural dis-eases can be rooted in supernatural causes…1/4 of Jesus ministry was devoted to casting out demons. This was not because he was ignorant of the “cause” of disease.
Can a Christian be possessed? “Possession” is not the biblical word. “Have a demon” is more accurate.
> “Have a demon” = like “having” a cold. Like a virus needs a host, so do demons.
> Deliverance feels like “I felt something lift off me. I feel lighter now. I feel free/ joyful/ peaceful. I slept for the first time in months, …
> The ecclesia: whatsoever you bind…loose… — they can only enter when we unlock the door!
Matthew 10:1 Jesus summoned His twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal every kind of disease and every kind of sickness.
Mark 16:17 … in My name they will cast out demons, they will speak with new tongues;
> Demons have NO authority – they must borrow ours! Spirits only have power when we agree with them
James 4:7 Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
STAYING STRONG AND GIVING OUR BODIES WHAT THEY NEED TO FIGHT DISEASE IS HOW WE RESIST THE DISEASES. WE ARE ALWAYS SURROUNDED BY EVIL – IT’S ONLY WHEN WE ARE WEAK IN SPIRIT THAT WE GET SICK. Eph 6:10-11
2 WAYS THEY GET IN:
1. AN UNGODLY RESPONSE TO AN UNCONTROLLABLE TRAUMATIC EVENT
DEMONS, LIKE GERMS, CAN BE INTRODUCED INTO OUR LIVES THROUGH INJURY. WITH PROPER CLEANING, BOTH KINDS OF INFECTIONS CAN BE CONTAINED.
> -We must allow God in when we are hurt, or we will build strongholds!
Strongholds = places where we have given permission for demons to traffic in our lives. They are build when we agree with satan’s lies and purposes in our lives
THIS IS WHY FORGIVENESS IS CRITICAL!
Matt 18:33-35 And his lord, moved with anger, handed him over to the torturers
2 Corinthians 2:10-11 …no advantage would be taken of us by Satan, for we are not ignorant of his schemes.
UNFORGIVENESS IS THE MOST COMMON OPEN DOOR FOR THE REALM OF DARKNESS TO INHABIT OUR LIVES. IT’S THE ONE JESUS TAUGHT ABOUT AND WARNED US ABOUT THE MOST!
Ephesians 4:26-27 …do not let the sun go down on your anger, and do not give the devil an opportunity.
2. REMAINING IN WILLFUL SIN.
Gal 5:16-21 – practices which open the door – build strongholds
John 3:19-21 …men loved the darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil… he who practices the truth comes to the Light…
