OBEYING THE LORD BY WALKING IN THE SPIRIT DOES NOT MEAN WE MEET EVERY NEED. WHEN WE AT THE BECK AND CALL OF EVERYONE ELSE, WE ARE OFTEN UNAVAILABLE TO GOD.
Gal 6:2-8 Bear one another’s burdens…each one will bear his own load

OUR COMPASSION IS A GREAT MOTIVATOR TO HELP SOMEONE IN NEED. WHEN OUT OF BALANCE, IT CAN ALSO INTERFERE WITH GOD’S WORK IN SOMEONE’S LIFE.
> Our help for someone being worked on is to encourage them to persevere.

> Sometimes we need encouragement to repent (rebuke/ admonition)
v.7 …God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap
> When someone continually sows on purpose to his flesh, we enable him when we carry his load for him.
THE SUREST WAY TO AVOID BECOMING AN “ENABLER” IS TO INSTEAD BE A BRIDGE CONNECTING PEOPLE TO THE FATHER. OUR GOAL IS TO HELP OTHERS BECOME CONNECTED TO THE ONLY ONE WHO CAN SATISFY THEIR DEEPEST NEEDS!
John 16:26-27 … I do not say to you that I will request of the Father on your behalf; for the Father Himself loves you, because you have loved Me and have believed that I came forth from the Father.
EVEN THE SAVIOR HIMSELF DID NOT PERMIT THE END OF SOMEONE’S JOURNEY TO BE HIM. THE GOAL WAS ALWAYS TO LEAD MEN BACK TO THE FATHER, AND BECOME DEPENDENT OF THE SPIRIT IN THEM.
John 14:16 “I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever;
> The helper “Paraclete” = one who walks beside…
> Carrying someone else’s load FOR them is not even what God does for us (long-term)
> The goal of our help and ministry is to restore men to God. NEVER being found replacing God in any way!
2 Corinthians 5:20 Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.
