Christ Revealed
Luke 24:28-29 Stay with us
Jesus is always present with us and is always ready for fellowship. In order to truly engage with His presence, however, we must be intentional about inviting Him to our table.
Luke 24:30-32 Were not our hearts burning within us…
Even with explanation from the greatest teacher who has ever lived, the bible alone is not enough to fully know God. To know Him, our hearts must be awakened to the reality of His love toward us.
Luke 24:33-35 how He was recognized by them in the breaking of the bread.
In the breaking of bread, Jesus connected His living presence with His broken body on the cross — the ultimate demonstration of love, and the lifestyle of the New Commandment: Love one another as I have loved you.
Breaking bread invites Jesus to be a partaker in the fellowship we are about to experience. We purpose to gather around a living God — not a belief system. It is impossible to “do church” without acknowledging Christ in the midst.
1 Cor 10:16–17 there is one bread, we who are many are one body; for we all partake of the one bread
As we each receive a portion of the broken bread, we each became partakers of His life. We each carry a portion of Him, which reveals His love to our hearts AND enables us to minister that portion to others.
Ephesians 3:14-21
In the breaking of bread, there is also a reminder that NO ONE who gathers at table with Jesus earned their seat at the table. All mankind is made equal in the revelation of the cross.
